Julian Anderson has been watching Richmond Station for years, waiting for something to happen. Some sort of upgrade or development that brings what he calls a “tourist gateway” up to an international standard.

It never did.

So, the Bates Smart director decided to propose something himself—a redevelopment that would transform Melbourne’s busiest sporting transport hub, delivering a hotel and 500 new homes through strategic height uplift and land sales.
