A breath of fresh Eyre - AV Jennings launches $450 million Adelaide development

Renowned property developer

AV Jennings

has added yet another project to its ever-expanding portfolio, with the launch of the $450 million

Eyre at Penfield development in the north of Adelaide.

Due to be completed over a 15 year period, the 121 hectare development will provide quality community-based living, and will house approximately 1,750 allotments and 2,000 new homes.

Situated in the suburb of Penfield, forty-five minutes north of Adelaide’s CBD, Eyre is expected to facilitate population growth of more than 170,000 over the next 30 years.

The project will also feature local amenities including its own dedicated shopping centre and supermarket, public transport, sports grounds, netball and basketball courts, as well as 12 well-connected individual community parks.

The Eyre development also aims to be sustainable throughout its production, with purple pipe reclaimed water and storm water utilisation, so as to establish an environmentally friendly and resilient community.

The recent property boom in Adelaide’s northern suburbs has lead AV Jennings State Manager Brian Virgo to believe that Eyre at Penfield will bring new meaning to spacious, tranquil and interconnected living.

“Through a series of local and identifiable precincts, Eyre at Penfield has been designed to deliver on the need for larger homes clustered around open spaces, a model which is a new innovation in urban design,” said Mr. Virgo.

“More than anything, it’s important to create an engaged community which is why we have designed our allotments and streets to revolve around each community park. Residents will be within walking distance to at least one communal space that encourages recreation and socialising amongst neighbours

“This master plan also results in people-friendly streets to provide families with security and added peace of mind,” he said.

The first stage of construction commenced in early June this year, and its Builders Display Village is due to be launched in 2013.

AVJennings is currently selling land for the development, with prices ranging from $124,950 to $150,000 and a sizeable selection of home and land packages also available.

Unique features of ‘Eyre at Penfield’ include:

  • Plans for extensive district sports grounds such as AFL ovals, soccer fields, as well as basketball, netball and tennis courts – due for completion in 2015.

  • Village Shopping Centre to be completed in 2016 to 2017.

  • A Civic Park that will reinforce the project’s chief goal to be ‘well-connected’

  • Located close to the Elizabeth Shopping Centre, public transport and the Northern Expressway.
