AMBS architects have recently unveiled plans for the world's Ā tallest skyscraper to be built in the Iraqi city of Basra.
At 3,780 feet (1,152-metres) tall - The Bride - will tower over the current record holder, the 2,723 foot Burj Khalifa in Dubai.
According to
Inhabitat, the tower is planned for the Bridge of the Gulf in Basra, the scene of some of the heaviest flighting during the 2003 invasion of Iraq, but now a fast developing business district.
describe the skyscraper as "the first vertical city in the world".
Dezeen, the architects say the tower would fall into the height category of "mega tall", as it breaks the 600-metre mark.
"Super-tall towers are perceived as an object in the distance," AMBS said.
