Wests Tigers Gears Up for Long-Awaited $95m Hotel Scheme

Gaming facilities will be relocated, to make space for new functions venues in the existing club's footprint.

A long-awaited hotel development at Wests Ashfield may finally be moving ahead, as a property group associated with the Wests Tigers NRL Club begins talks with the Inner West Council.

Holman Barnes Group has filed an application for pre-development advice regarding a $95-million hotel development. The 6598sq m site at 113-115 Liverpool Road now hosts the Wests Ashfield hospitality venue associated with the rugby league team.

The plan calls for redevelopment of a carpark into a two-storey podium comprising a hotel lobby and a first-floor gaming room with 520 machines. The pre-2012 construction of that carpark, at a cost of $17.1 million, was designed to accommodate the addition of new storeys and a future tower.
