Thornhill Park, a master planned community expected to yield 2376 homes in Melbourne's west, has received State Government planning approval.
The Australian Financial Review reported that Planning Minister Richard Wynne had approved the project's precinct structure plan on Wednesday.

Thornhill Park in Rockbank will cater for a population of approximately 7,000 upon completion.

Located 30km from the city between Melton and Caroline Springs, Thornhill Park is bounded by the Western Freeway, Mt Cottrell Road and Paynes Road.
The master planned community will feature two primary schools, a retail centre, a sports reserve and a new train station, part of plans to upgrade the Melton railway line.
The AFR revealed that presales had already yielded 150 contracts for lots.
Prices start from $200,000 for a 440sqm lot.
The first release is expected to be officially launched in July.
Residents are expected to move into their homes in 2017.
