Architectural firm ThomsonAdsett has designed Australia's first luxury residential retirement apartments for arts patrons, Streeton Park on Yarra.
The rising cost of land, coupled with limited availability of urban space means there is set to be a surge in the number of high-rise retirement apartments, purpose-built to suit the needs of healthier and wealthier retirees who are not wanting to compromise on lifestyle.
The recently completed $40 million project at 9 Vine Street Heidelberg was developed in partnership with interior design firm Jacobsen Projects. The facility accommodates 85 premium independent living apartments on the banks of the Yarra River, with the aim of attracting arts patrons to the precinct, a region already established as a creative hub for Melbourne’s arts community. The development sits on the banks of the Yarra and is a short walk to the Heide Museum of Modern Art. The development offers a fine dining restaurant, sports bar, salon and business centre.
