The Sydney construction boom is still well and truly here, with Sydney's skyline filled with more cranes than any other city in the world outside of Dubai.
According to the Daily Telegraph, a new audit of building hot spots, The Rider Levett Bucknall Crane Index, shows that Sydney has more cranes than all major US cities including New York, Los Angeles and Washington.
Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, Premier Mike Baird said, "To confirm that NSW is on the go, you need only to glance across Sydney's vibrant skyline, where 220 cranes visually tell the story.
"This is an increase of more than a third since the March election. It is at the highest in the nation and a record since the crane index was started."According to Rider Levett Bucknall Director of Research and Development Stephen Ballesty, the growth in high-rise living is partly fuelling the boom, with a reported 170 out of the total 220 cranes working on high-rise residential projects.
