Socceroo’s Southern Gold Coast Tower Approved

Plans by two former profession sportsmen including an ex-Socceroo have been approved for a souther Gold Coast residential development.

The application for the seven-storey residential block at 133 Golden Four Drive, Bilinga has been given the green light by the City of Gold Coast Council.

Plans for the site were submitted earlier this year by Zone Planning Group on behalf of Bella Felicita No 2, a vehicle of former Socceroo and Sydney FC captain Alex Brosque and fellow Sydney player Brendan Renaud.

The site is currently occupied by a two-storey brick and fibro home which will be demolished.

Work is now due to commence on the project which will comprise 11 units, including two penthouses across seven levels, described as “large liveable homes that cater for families”.

The tower will consist mainly of three-bedroom units with the exception of a two-bedroom apartment at the ground level and two four-bedroom penthouses.

It will have a car parking within a single basement, with three visitor parks provided at grade to the north-west property boundary, with vehicle access from Golden Four Drive.

Bilinga, described as “highly accessible” to transport links and home to the Gold Coast Airport, is in a state of active development.

The approved tower is near a brick duplex which will be removed to make way for a six unit, four-level townhouse development.

There are also a number of five to 10 level apartment buildings in the area.

The project was approved after information requests to which the council responded with a number of changes.

The developers were handed a $307,074 infrastructure charge notice, and asked to design and construct off-street vehicle facilities of around 21 new parking spaces at no cost to the council to keep up with high demand for parking in the area.

Alroe Constructions are project managing the build alongside architects at Impact Design and engineers Pinnacle Engineering Group.
