Local Downsizers in Sherpa’s Crosshairs for Chevron Island

Gold Coast developer Sherpa Property Group has filed plans for a luxury apartment project on its recently acquired Chevron Island site.

The plans for the boutique residential development on the 1710sq m site at 107 Stanhill Drive comprise four villas, four river residences and two double-storey penthouses.

The riverfront site will also feature marina berths, a first for Sherpa’s Perspective brand.

The HAL Architects-designed project has been designed for the downsizer and owner-occuper market with a minimum of three bedrooms and generous interiors, according to the developer.

Sherpa Property Group founder Christie Leet said with immediate access to the Broadwater and ocean, they expected strong interest for the homes from the boating community.

“We believe a boutique project is a perfect fit for Chevron Island with an intimate design that lends itself to sophisticated, yet private, lifestyle,” Leet said.

“We think our buyers are those already in the vicinity, particularly downsizers, so we have worked hard to make them as good to live in as a house with a huge emphasis on security.

“Each residence will also have a three-to-four car lock-up garage, plus storage, as this level of amenity has been in strong demand across our recent projects.”

Sherpa recently acquired three prime sites, including a 915sq m site at 45 Labrador Street at Labrador and a 17ha site on Winchelsea Way at Terranora, and plans are under way.

Construction of the Chevron Island project is slated to begin in the third quarter of 2024 subject to Gold Coast City Council approval and the project is to launch to market early next year.
