Club Bumps Up Gosford Plans to Five Towers

AJC Architects' render of the new plans for the Central Coast Leagues Club redevelopment project.

With refurbishment of its actual club premises under way, the Central Coast Leagues Club has filed changes to plans for the rest of the Gosford site.

Originally, the club filed a masterplan with the NSW Planning Department for the site at 1 Dane Drive at Gosford.

The masterplan by Fender Katsalidis had two stepped hotel towers over a podium with basement car parking and an open plaza.

After acquiring neighbouring 91 and 91A Donnison Street, however, the club redesigned the plans and submitted a SEARS application to the NSW Planning Department for the changes.

Central Coast Leagues Club bought 91A Donnison Street from Donnison Apartments Pty Ltd in August 2021, paying $1.8 million.

AJC Architects designed the new plans which now include several podiums with five towers above them and a large parking podium in the centre of the site, visibly shielded from the street by the towers.

Four of the towers will be residential with 583 units and the fifth a 120-key hotel. The cost has not been put at $564 million.

There will be 1320 car parking spaces in the parking podium as well as retail and commercial spaces.

An open plaza from the original plans remains with two laneways through the site for pedestrians and resident use.

Rooftop gardens are planned for all of the towers with solar panels on two.

The club will remain in its current location is expected to operate throughout  construction.

Meanwhile, the first stage of the redevelopment project is under way with Colliers International managing the club’s internal refurbishment.

The refurbishment by Altis Architecture will create a new lobby, bar and dining spaces within the club while a new sports lounge will provide space to watch major events on what the club said will be the largest LED screen on the Central Coast.
