$35 million Student Accommodation Project Launched On Sunshine Coast

s

Park Avenue Group has announced the launch of a major student accommodation project in the heart of Maroochydore.

Located in the Aerodrome Road precinct, Sunshine Coast Student Accommodation will offer accommodation, recreational and meeting facilities for approximately 330 students.

Lorna Willis of Park Avenue Group said the $35 million development would comprise 83 contemporary two and three bedroom units over four levels, ground-floor cafes and shops, and multiple break-out areas.

The development is conveniently located next to a bus interchange and there are plans for a shuttle bus providing transport between accommodation and the university on a regular basis.

Construction is expected to start in early 2016 with an estimated completion date to allow for students in the first semester of 2017.

“Maroochydore is undoubtedly one of South East Queensland’s most exciting growth hubs with major employment, public transport and educational opportunities unfolding on its doorstep,’’ Ms Willis said.

“Demand for quality, affordable student accommodation will only continue to increase as the regional development strategy for the Sunshine Coast unfolds over the next two decades.

“The forecast is extremely encouraging with the local economy set to triple to $33 billion, the creation of 100,000 new jobs in high end industries and household incomes exceeding the Queensland average.

“Sunshine Coast Student Accommodation is perfectly placed to offer a range of benefits to future residents as well as investors,’’ she said.

“Demand for student accommodation is already strong and as educational services expand in line with future growth forecasts, the need will become far greater,’’ she said.

Sunshine Coast Student Accommodation is situated 10 minutes from Sunshine Coast University and five minutes to the beach.

It is also closely located to the Sunshine Plaza shopping centre, Maroochydore Homemaker Centre, the Maroochydore CBD and thriving Ocean Street dining precinct – perfect for students seeking employment opportunities while they complete their studies, convenience and affordable living.
