When it comes to designing your perfect bedroom, the experience can often be overwhelming.

We are inundated with thousands of bedroom ideas in interior design and architecture magazines and blogs, but filtering those ideas into the ideal design to suit your personality, taste and lifestyle can be difficult.

Conrad Gargett Director John Flynn says space, a functional layout and access to daylight are the foundations of good bedroom design in a home or apartment.

He also says size and the orientation of bedroom furniture should not be overlooked.
