Ingham Property Group is preparing to transform a 184ha site near the Western Sydney Aerotropolis after winning the approval for its Badgerys Creek Road Masterplan.
It is the first private-sector masterplan at Bradfield and comprises an innovation and industry hub of 625,000sq m to cater for warehouses, distribution centres and light industry.
The project at 475 Badgerys Creek Road, to be called Ingham & Co, will also have 45ha of open space for three riparian corridors and a public park, according to the plans.
Ths site has connections to the future Eastern Ring Road.
The property group retained nearly 900ha of land when Inghams Enterprises was sold to TPG Capital in 2013.
NSW planning minister Paul Scully said there were many more plans in the works to grow Australia’s newest city.
He said the project would add 12,500 jobs on the doorstep of Western Sydney’s new airport.
“Ingham’s masterplan forms part of $14-billion worth of private development applications currently in the pipeline for the Aerotropolis which are expected to create 120,000 jobs,” Scully said.
This project builds on momentum across the Aerotropolis, including the opening of the first building in Bradfield city centre and the release of the NSW Government’s infrastructure delivery plan for Western Sydney.
Badgerys Creek Road Masterplan went on exhibition late last year and was approved by the minister on July 11.
Ingham Property Group has previously completed an 850-lot residential development on a 87ha site at Carnes Hill, also in NSW.
Also in its holdings are a 300ha development at Appin, 4.3ha at Casula and 152ha at Tahmoor, all in NSW, 2.7ha at Park Ridge in Queensland and 135ha at Muchea in Western Australia.
