Iconic Darraweit Guim Landholding Offers Future Development Potential

1

One of the largest individual landholdings on the fringe of the Melbourne Urban Growth Boundary is being offered to the market for the first time in two decades.

Fairfield, a 1,388 hectare landholding situated in Darraweit Guim, is located just 48 radial kilometres from the Melbourne CBD.

The property comprises a grazing and dry land farming operation, running a combination of sheep and cattle, with approximately 500 hectares available for high quality cropping.

CBRE’s Danny Thomas, who is steering the International Tender campaign with Duncan McCulloch and James Beer, said the property’s strategic location would be a key selling factor.

“Located just 50 minutes from the Melbourne CBD and 30 minutes from the Tullamarine Airport, Fairfield represents a unique opportunity to acquire a flagship semi-rural lifestyle property close to the Melbourne CBD, with substantial future development upside,” Mr Thomas said.

“We expect there to be strong interest from domestic and international investors looking to capitalise on the expansion of Melbourne’s northern suburbs, given the substantial land bank appeal of Fairfield, whilst also being able to invest in a secure investment with low capital expenditure requirements.

“Darraweit Guim is a historically important agricultural region, having been home to many of Australia’s agricultural pioneers, and is earmarked as an area of future growth in order to accommodate greater Melbourne’s expanding population, which will no doubt be another draw card.”

The property features several improvements, including a five bedroom, two bathroom homestead, managers’ residence, four stables, five car garage and shearing shed.

The property is being offered to the market via an International Tender campaign.
