The long-awaited redevelopment of the former home of a Gold Coast dining institution has taken a major step forward.

Churchill Development Group’s revised plans for the site of the long-closed Ashmore Seafood and Steak restaurant have been unanimously recommended for approval by the City of Gold Coast’s planning committee.

The proposal comprising three midrise residential buildings will now head to a full council meeting for a final vote on August 25.
