French apparel brands Sandro and Maje have announced they will be heading to Australian shores.
According to the Australian Financial Review, the companies have signed seven-year leases for two 125sqm stores at St Collins Lane, a new mall redevelopment in Collins Street, Melbourne by La Salle Investment Management.
The newspaper reported that Sandro and Maje were understood to have paid market rates of about $3000 to $4000 per square metre for the two shops.
The deal was negotiated by CBRE's Alister Palmer on behalf of La Salle Investment Management.
Part of the SCMP Group, Sandro and Maje are upmarket brands that focus on affordable luxury. Sandro was established in 1984 by Evelyne Chérite, while her sister Judith Milgrom founded Maje in 1998. American private investment firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co acquired a 65 per cent stake of the Group in 2013.
