[+] Incentives Urged to Drive Overseas Investment in Off-the-Plan Projects

Foreign buyers are keen to purchase off-the-plan apartments at the northern end of Melbourne's CBD like those at Sapphire by the Gardens next to the Shangri-La Hotel but developers say foreign buyers need more incentives.

That Australia has a housing crisis is not new.

But industry leaders are claiming incentivising foreign investors to send their dollars Australia’s way and pump up housing stock could help to address the endemic problem. 

Hamton Property Group chairman Paul Hameister broached the topic at The Urban Developer’s Melbourne Long Lunch event this month.
