Crown Group Opens Hotel in $250 Million ‘Arc’ Project

Crown Group will open the serviced apartment component of its $250 million Arc development in Sydney’s CBD next month, dubbed the “Skye Suites”.

Crown Group built the Skye Suites brand to complement its growing apartment development pipeline, opening its first hotel in Parramatta in 2017.

The Sydney CBD Skye Suites marks the developer’s first serviced apartment offering and will open its doors for short- and long-stay guests in mid-October.

Sitting within the Koichi Takada-designed 25-storey Arc development on the corner of Clarence and Kent Streets, Crown Group will host 73 serviced apartments among 179 residential apartments.

“We are incredibly excited to open our doors to Skye Suites Sydney after such success in Parramatta,” Crown Group chairman Iwan Sunito said.

Crown Group's Skye Hotel Suites in the developer's 29-storey Parramatta project was Parramatta's first five-star boutique hotel and marked Crown Group's introduction to the hotel sector.

In a statement, Crown Group said that the suites at Kent Street are the first boutique serviced apartment offering in inner-city Sydney.

“This is an exciting project for Sydney as Arc by Crown Group will be the first collection of serviced apartments to redefine the west corridor of the city – tapping into the business and financial district of the CBD,” Crown Group director of hotels and suites Wayne Taranto said.

“We are thrilled to be offering a luxury boutique and service orientated apartments for guests and Sydneysiders.”

The second phase of the project will see the remaining residential suites, rooftop and retail precinct complete in November 2018.
