Construction Starts on $60 Million Parkwest Business Estate

P

Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale has turned the first sod at Pellicano's new 10 hectare industrial estate in Ipswich - Parkwest Business Estate - officially marking the start of construction of stage one.

Civil works are now complete on the first stage of the $60 million masterplanned business park, which will be developed and managed by the privately owned development and construction company.

The new business park - located directly opposite the new Masters Home Improvement Centre which opened on Hoepner Road in 2014 - will include office and warehouse accommodation, as well as ancillary uses to service the business park.

Pellicano development manager Callum Murray said the company was now preparing for construction to commence on the first office block within the estate - a boutique sized, strata titled, industrial unit complex, comprising seven units, ranging in size from 153 sqm to 408 sqm.

"Construction has commenced, and will showcase the style of space that will be on offer at Parkwest," Mr Murray said.

"We will also be offering turn-key packages, ranging between 1000 sqm up to 3000 sqm of space, designed and constructed to suit the needs of small and large business from a wide range of industries."Land will also be available within the estate, ranging from 2,000s qm up to 2.2 hectares combined.

Mr Murray said the company had identified demand in the area for small office warehouse accommodation.

"Business park sites are specifically chosen for their key efficiency benefits, such as their accessibily to arterial and major roads and surrounding amenities," Mr Murray said.

"Parkwest Business Estate is conveniently positioned at the gateway of Brisbane's booming western corridor, with three way arterial access to the Ipswich Motorway, Cunningham Highway and Warrego Highway."

According to Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale Parkwest Business Estate offered investors and occupiers a rare opportunity to secure an affordable industriual or commercial facility in a growing region, just 8 kilometres from the centre of Ipswich and 22 kilometres from the heart of Brisbane's CBD.

"There is growing demand from businesses to be positioned within close proximity to the major road networks and Parkwest will certainly address this need in Ipswich," Mr Pisasale said.

"With the recent opening of the new Masters Home Improvement Centre directly opposite the Parkwest site, this area is set to become a hub for industry and the local community."“Parkwest represents another vote of confidence in the future of Ipswich."Pellicano currently owns more than 1, 657,000 sqm of vacant land between Melbourne and Queensland and according to Mr Murray, Pellicano is continually looking for new opportunities in Queensland.

"Pellicano has completed a string of industrial and commercial developments, including Mango Hill Retail Centre and the Capital Place showroom centre at Kawana," Mr Murray said.

"We are continuing to establish ourselves in Queensland with a mix of residential and commercial projects currently underway, and we see the south-east, in particular, as a major growth area for the company moving forward."
