The State government’s investment in the new $500 million law courts on Victoria Square has prompted Western Core Projects to kick start plans for a vibrant new residential precinct next door.
Western Core Projects has lodged a Development Application for a new project with a development value of $70 million, the 23-storey residential apartment development at 27 – 31 Angas Street, aims to be a catalyst for further residential development in the precinct.
Under the plans, the vacant 27 – 31 Angas Street site will be transformed into 138 apartments with a 5- storey podium level, ground floor retail and an 18-storey tower which will enjoy sweeping views over the city and the Adelaide Hills.
Designed by leading architects
Woods Bagot, South Australians’ love of the verandah has been reimagined with the creation of Sky Gardens, which will dominate the façade of the building.
Western Core Projects’ Director Steve Wise said the Angas Street property provides an opportunity for people to live right in the heart of the city in a building designed by Australia’s leading architects.
“Residents will benefit from thoughtfully designed apartments with generous balconies, and one of the best locations in the city,” Mr Wise said.
“The project is 150 metres from Victoria Square, a two-minute walk to Gouger Street and the Central Markets, and a short stroll or tram ride to the burgeoning Riverbank Precinct and Adelaide Oval. This really is what living in the city is all about.”
“Western Core Projects investment reflects a growing confidence in Adelaide developing a vibrant CBD and the potential market for city living.
27 – 31 Angas Street will feature 138 one, two and three bedroom apartments with a lush podium garden. If approved, the project will go to market in the second quarter of 2015.
