About this project

Argo Group have developed and delivered Ovolo’s first new-build hotel, the 123 room boutique hotel, Ovolo South Yarra. Blending past, present and progressive, this is a place where retro chic and pop-art collide.

The development sets the scene for an extraordinary hotel experience embodying the philosophy of connecting with customers emotionally and complementing the local cultural scene.

The project was delivered using a range of prefabricated construction methodologies, including structure, façades and entire bathrooms, helping mitigate the restrictions imposed by Covid-19 throughout construction.

Project details

  • The seven-level hotel consists of ground floor guest arrival and F&B experience with bar, entertainment amenity and conference facilities, with hotel rooms located on levels 1 to 6.

  • Ovolo was constructed utilising a range of prefabricated construction methodologies enabled by Hickory’s self-performing divisions Hickory Building Systems (HBS) and SYNC Bathroom Pods.

  • Lona Misa, the restaurant tenancy, has operated at capacity every Thursday, Friday and Saturday of trading since opening.
