Ten Projects Leading Green Star Ratings in 2025

From electrified builds to carbon-neutral towers, these projects show how green certifications are shifting from ambition to delivery and operational efficiency. 

More than 4700 projects have been certified with the Green Building Council of Australia as the drive to environmentally conscious investment mandates becomes more prevalent across the country. 

Green Building Council of Australia chief impact officer Jorge Chapa said there had been growing momentum for a healthier built environment.

“The year has shown us that sustainability is no longer an afterthought to the built environment, but embedded into its DNA, welcoming a new normal for the industry,” Chapa said. 

“Whether it’s the certification of an all-electric aquatic centre or a community that highlights the best of adaptive reuse and high-performing homes, the industry has taken the challenge of creating systemic change in the built environment, head on.”

The Urban Developer has drawn on data from the Green Star project directory to showcase new and existing buildings that received top certification for Performance v1.2 in 2025 through the Green Building Council of Australia’s Green Star certification process.
