A 12-storey residential tower that includes affordable housing in Glenelg has won approval.
Taplin Group, which is based in the seaside suburb 11km south-east of the South Australian capital’s CBD, is behind the 12-storey project comprising 77 apartments, of which 20 will be affordable housing units.
The project to rise at 13 Colley Terrace will have a mix of one, two, three and four-bedroom apartments.
Developer Taplin Group appointed Stallard Meek Flightpath Architects to design the tower.
The approved project will have a basement level with 33 car parks plus 44 car parks on the ground and first floor.
Existing tourist accommodation on the site would be demolished to make way for the tower.
Work on Taplin’s nearby $50-million Colley Terrace Hotel, a five-star hotel also in Glenelg is well under way.
The seven-storey hotel will feature retail and a rooftop bar with views of St Vincent Gulf and Adelaide Hills.
