Hunt for Park Quarter Builder Down to Final Three

A view of the Park Quarter project on St Kilda Road in Melbourne.

Sunnyland Investment Development Group is down to the final three as it decides on a builder for its Park Quarter on St Kilda Road.

The 18-storey tower has been designed by Cox Architecture with DKO Architects and Carr Architects for the site at 474 St Kilda Road, 3km from the Melbourne CBD.

Sunnyland Investment Development Group (SIDG) has estimated a project value of more than $100 million for the project, which comprises 244 luxury apartments in a mix of one, two and three bedrooms and amenities including a swimming pool, sauna, gym, steam room and rooftop terrace.

Carr Architects was responsible for designing the Garden Homes tier of apartments on levels 6 to 14 while DKO designed the Sky Manor apartments on level 15 and 16.

The DKO-designed penthouses take up levels 17 and 18.

Part of the project will include 180 serviced apartments.

Marriott Group will operate the hotel component and provide access to amenities and concierge services as the first hotel under the Marriott Executive Apartment brand in Australia.

The site is near key transport links along St Kilda Road and near Albert Park Lake where other development projects are under way.

SIDG revealed on social media that LU Simon Builders, Crema Constructions and Hacer Group were the final three in the running for the project.

CoreLogic property records list the site as last being sold in August 2010 for $38 million. Settlement was in January 2011.
