Popular Motel For Sale In Tightly Held Gippsland Leasehold Market

1

A popular motel in the competitive Gippsland leasehold hotel market is on the market.

Colliers International’s Will Connolly has been appointed to sell the leasehold for the Welshpool Hotel Motel in South Gippsland by Expressions of Interest closing August 17.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to be appointed to sell such a well respected venue,” Mr Connolly said.

“The Welshpool Hotel Motel is extremely well regarded within its industry and we are supremely confident of high interest levels.

“The South Gippsland area has always been a highly competitive buying zone for leasehold hotels. They are tightly held in this region which can only be a positive in terms of trade enjoyed by their operators.

“Vendors Troon and Esther Jack purchased the property just over five years ago and have since undertaken significant refurbishments. Esther and Troon have developed a seamless operation over their tenure and have built a loyal local following which, in turn, will make the transition for any purchaser easy.”

The property comprises a large public bar with TAB and Keno facilities, a bistro with open fireplace and children’s play room, a paved outdoor beer garden and nine motel rooms.

“With a long and affordable lease on offer and a popular location just over two hours from Melbourne’s CBD, this is truly one of Victoria’s best leasehold opportunities,” Mr Connolly said.

Mr Jack said after almost six years, the time had come to move on and embark upon a new project.

“During our time here we have built the pub up to be a main contender in food for the area and have proudly been recognised by the AHA for this,” Mr Jack said.

“We have worked hard to create a comfortable and welcoming setting for patrons by fully refurbishing the bistro and outdoor areas.

“The area is beautiful and, with its proximity to Wilsons Promontry, is always a popular tourist destination. This popularity will continue to grow with the addition of a new rail trail through the area.”

Welshpool Hotel Motel has been a finalist in the AHA’s ‘Best Country Bistro’ award for the past four years.
