Place shines at REIQ awards for a fourth consecutive year

Place has won The Real Estate Institute of Queensland Large Residential Agency of the Year for the fourth consecutive year. The award recognises outstanding achievement in the industry.

Reflecting on the year that was, CEO of Place, Damian Hackett said he was thrilled by the win.

“What an honour this is to be recognised by your peers, by the membership of the REIQ and by those who understand what it takes to run a real estate agency. I commend the REIQ for the outstanding work that they do in educating, training and raising the standard of the industry,” Mr Hackett said.

2011 has been one of the toughest year for the real estate industry in almost two decades.

House prices decreased by 9.3% which the number of houses on the market climbed to in excess of 30,000.

The volume of transactions was also down by 45% across the Brisbane market, on the five year average.

Despite this, Hackett remained optimistic.

“On behalf of the managing directors Paul Curtain, Sarah Bushell, Judy Goodger and myself I can say we are looking forward to the much improved market conditions for 2012.”

Place was established in the inner eastern suburb of Bulimba in August, 2002 by Damian Hackett, Sarah Hackett and Paul Curtain. Judy Goodger joined the team as partner in July, 2010.
