Work Begins on $3bn Melbourne Square Skyscraper

Construction has started on OSK Property's latest tower BLVD in the Melbourne Square precinct in Melbourne's Southbank.

OSK Property has broken ground on its BLVD skyscraper, the third of its towers planned for the Melbourne Square site.

Multiplex is the builder for BLVD, a 74-storey skyscraper that was launched in October last year.

The development includes 602 apartments and amenities such as private dining rooms, gyms, 25m indoor pool, spa, sauna, golf simulator, entertainment and lounge spaces, and a co-working area spanning levels 55 and 56.

There will also be electric vehicle charging stations and a zen garden.

The apartments will be carbon-neutral in operation and the building gas-free. OSK is also pursuing WELL Certification for the building.

“The BLVD groundbreaking represents a major milestone for the Melbourne Square precinct, which has two existing towers and will also feature a build-to-rent tower alongside the build-to-sell residences,” OSK Group executive chairman Tan Sri Ong Leong Huat said.

Work proper get under way next month on the skyscraper that is expected to be completed in early 2028.

The $3-billion-Melbourne Square precinct at Southbank on the southern side of the Yarra River includes a 3245sq m park, Woolworths supermarket,  early learning centre and several retail offerings.

Multiplex also built the first two towers of the Melbourne Square precinct, which first began in 2017.
