Most Active Data Centre Developers in 2025

Data centres have become big business for the development and construction industry in Australia. According to BCI Central there are 57 active data centre projects across Australia, worth a combined $34.7 billion. But more than three-quarters of those projects are in the design and documentation phase, forecasting a glut of work for construction firms specialising in the alternative asset class. NSW and Victoria remain the heartland of data centre activity with 75 per cent of active data centre developments across the two states. Artificial intelligence is now one of the strongest forces reshaping the velocity at which data centres are being delivered. According to DCByte’s Global Data Centre Index 2025, AI accounted for 11 per cent of global leased capacity last year, doubling the demand from the previous year.
