The dormitory suburb of Castle Hill is a classic example of sprawling suburbia, where detached homes cluster around quiet culs-de-sac.
But QIC’s October announcement that it will commence on a $600-million overhaul of the Castle Towers shopping centre, directly connected to the local Metro station, has highlighted the surge of development activity and the pace of change under way in the town centre.
Urban Property Group head of planning Chris Ferreira told The Urban Developer that Castle Hill had “traditionally been a bit of a family suburb, with not a lot of diversity in housing stock”.
