Macroplan’s Gary White has been appointed Chief Planner for NSW by the State Government.

The key new planning position was created this year to bolster the state’s ability to manage ongoing urban and regional change, ensuring that its planning systems and approaches are well placed to deliver first class outcomes befitting our global city and progressive state.

Gary has held the position of Principal Planner at Macroplan for the past three years, having previously held a number of senior planning positions with Queensland’s state and local governments.

His knowledge is broad, exemplified by the many national projects he has worked on during his time with Macroplan.”

“Gary’s return to the public sector provides for a healthy focus on practical planning. Insights gained at Macroplan of the relationship between desired planning outcomes and how they are delivered by the market will no doubt be key.”

“We welcome the State’s advancement of its planning agenda through Gary’s appointment,” said Michael Tilt.
