Citiwest Group Files Geelong Warehouse Plans

The site at 27-28 Nepean Close in North Geelong where Citiwest Group has proposed a 30-warehouse project.

Plans for a 30-warehouse project across a substantial site at Geelong have been filed as development activity across sectors increases in Victoria’s satellite city.

Citiwest Group has filed the plans with the City of Greater Geelong Council for 30 warehouses on a 2.38ha site at 27-28 Nepean Close, North Geelong.

All 30 would be of two storeys with warehouse space on the ground floor and office space above.

The plans by E.J. Grech and Associates show a total of 13,435sq m of warehouse space and 2158sq m of office.

There would be 244 carparking spaces, including two disabled parking spaces.

Planning documents submitted with the application ask for a reduction in carparking requirements as the site is within 500m of the North Geelong train station and is near a bus service along Douro Street as well as the Tom McKean Linear Park bike trail.

Demand for business parks and office precincts at Geelong that allow office staff to be co-located with industrial colleagues well as other similar businesses has increased.

Citiwest is keen to take advantage of this with the town planning report for the project saying that the proposed use for the site was light industrial.

Warren Gatt is listed as the managing director on the Citiwest Group website.

ASIC records show that the Citiwest Group business name is held by The Trustee for Citiwest Constructions Trust with Warren Gatt and Judy Gatt listed as representatives.

The Urban Developer contacted Warren Gatt for comment.
