Third of Bradfield City Now Development Ready

A third of the 114ha site of Australia’s newest city is now development ready as the first stage of civil works completes.
The stage of works across a 38ha site at Bradfield, 45km west of the Sydney CBD, has been delivered by Western Earth Moving in partnership with NSW Public Works.
It included 4km of new roads, 8km of active transport links and 178 on-street car parks.
Bus bays, taxi zones and kiss-and-ride facilities near the new Bradfield Metro Station have also been completed
Potable, recycled and wastewater systems, electrical infrastructure and fibre networks have been brought to the boundary, creating serviced lots designed to accelerate vertical construction—including works tied to the first superlot.
More than 321,000 pavers were laid and 600 trees planted as part of a climate-responsive streetscape strategy incorporating low-carbon concrete, recycled asphalt and water-sensitive urban design—key considerations in one of the state’s hottest growth corridors.
Western Sydney minister Prue Car said the works laid the foundations for a “world-class city” as the opening of Western Sydney International Airport approaches.
Stage two works are already under way and include access roads linking the precinct to Badgerys Creek Road and a regional stormwater network of ponds, basins and wetlands.
The milestone follows the government’s $1-billion deal signed in December 2025 to secure Bradfield City Centre’s first major commercial and residential development partner—bringing the jobs-and-housing equation closer to execution in Western Sydney’s newest growth front, according to the state.
