What a 4.5-Star iCIRT Means for Modern Construction

Sydney-based builder Binah is pleased to announce it has successfully advanced its rating to 4.5-Star Gold Independent Construction Industry Rating Tool (iCIRT), up from 4-Stars in 2024.

This is a strong reflection of the growing confidence in Binah’s capabilities and reputation as a trustworthy builder.

The rating puts Binah among a select group of Australian builders with proven capability and confirms it has met stringent criteria across delivery, risk management and client satisfaction.

Founded in 2008, Binah has grown and expanded from Western Sydney to broader Sydney, regional NSW and into Queensland.

Co-founders Amen Zoabi and Khalil Hafza credit its success to long-term partnerships and a collaborative approach.

“Being awarded such a significant iCIRT rating provides assurance to our clients and partners that what we say about quality and certainty is backed up by evidence,” Binah chief executive Khalil Hafza said.

“This achievement underscores our unwavering commitment to quality, transparency, and industry excellence.

“iCIRT was part of the NSW Government’s push to raise construction standards and now acknowledges the quality Binah has always strived for.”

The iCIRT is a data-based system developed by global data, analytics and technology company, Equifax in close consultation with the Building Commission of NSW.

It is a tool to assess credibility and trust in the construction industry across key areas: Capability, Conduct, Character, Capacity, Capital and Counterparties.

Trust and accountability are central to the construction industry. As governments, financiers and communities demand clearer proof of reliability, iCIRT is a critical measure of performance for clients and regulators.

For Binah, it’s further acknowledgement of its proven track record of long-term partnerships, predictability and value creation.

Binah’s approach begins before construction and starts with Early Contractor Involvement (ECI).

ECI means bringing builders in while projects are still in the design phase, allowing them to provide practical input on buildability, sequencing, cost, and risk before plans are finalised. The addition of this process means fewer surprises, greater budget certainty, and translates into faster decision making on the ground.

With a detailed integrated management system and monitoring programs, Binah can successfully uphold standards that track safety and quality throughout a projects lifecycle.

Current work ranges from luxury apartments overlooking Sydney Harbour and Brisbane CBD, to new community hubs and build-to-rent initiatives, addressing housing needs at a time of challenging delivery targets.
