Sydney’s Bays West Design Competition Flooded with Entries
A competition to design Sydney’s new 8500-home inner-city suburb has received an “overwhelming response”, with more than 165 entries submitted.
The Bays West precinct will rise on the site of the White Bay shipping facilities, 2km west of the CBD, after an earlier 2022 masterplan and rezoning for 250 homes was scrapped.
Minister for lands Steve Kamper said that the project was “one of the most significant urban renewal opportunities in Australia and the overwhelming response from design teams around the world shows just how important Bays West is as a city-shaping project”.
