The first images of New Deshon tower, part of the $600 million South City Square development set to transform the inner-city suburb of Woolloongabba, have been unveiled.
Developed by Pellicano and Perri Projects, New Deshon is the second stage of a massive urban renewal project that will see six residential high rises, one hotel, retail facilities and open space being built over the next seven years.
It follows the success of the first tower, One South City, which is now 100-per cent sold.
New Deshon was designed by DBI Design and will offer a range of apartment configurations, including one, two and three bedroom designs.
A highlight of each apartment will be a large terrace that will deliver a smooth transition between outdoor and indoor living.
The apartments offer neutral interiors with natural timber floors and built-in joinery. Kitchens will include stainless integrated dishwasher and stainless steel ovens, island benches, mirrored glass splash-backs, stone benchtops and European appliances.
Apartments will offer views either towards the Gabba, the Brisbane River, the Brisbane CBD or the central square at South City Square. There will be car, bike and storage spaces underground for residents.
At the top of the tower will be an exclusive landscaped rooftop terrace with a lap pool, barbecues and sweeping views of the city.
New Deshon’s ground level will offer retail outlets, cafés and restaurants.
Apartments are now available for sale.
The masterplan for stages one, two and three of South City Square were approved this month by Brisbane City Council.
Upon completion, South City Square will include seven architecturally designed buildings – six residential and one 5-star hotel – as well as 13,000sqm of retail including a full-line underground supermarket and an eight-screen boutique cinema, along with provisions for a medical centre, health and wellness precinct, childcare centre, central marketplace, cafés, restaurants and landscaped surrounds.
Designed by a world-leading team that includes Woods Bagot, DBI, Six Degrees and Oculus, South City Square has been planned around a 5,000sqm publicly-accessible city square, representing approximately 25 percent of the entire site.
South City Square is located on the corner of Logan Road and Deshon Street.
