Metro Property Development has commenced construction on its residential estate ‘Fairway Residences’, located on part of the Strathfield Golf Course.
Its building arm, Creation Homes, will deliver the 50 luxury town homes with completion scheduled for the end of 2017.
Prominently located at 88 Centenary Drive in Sydney’s Inner West, Fairway Residences comprises a range of spacious three and four bedroom designs priced from $1.6 million.
Civil works are nearing completion with the entry road and southern pads to be finished, alongside the civil contractor vacating site by the end of April.
Creation Homes took its first steps in the process by adding accommodation and machinery to the site, including the erection of the first tower crane.
Key trades such as surveying, framing, piling, plumbing, concreting and electrical have been tendered and let accordingly. Edge boards, sand and steel cages have been put into place for the majority of the northern townhouses and will be ready for the first of 23 pours by Easter.
In May, the majority of the concrete pours being completed and the erection of frames and structural steel for the first 18 townhouses.
Fairways Residences has been 75% sold out and Metro expects a spike in sales now that construction has ramped up on‐site.
Metro Property Development’s Phil Leahy said enquiry levels have increased significantly since construction activity has become more visible on site.
“The feedback we receive from buyers is that main drawcards are the design and luxury finishes on the homes along with the unique location on the golf course. Buyers also like the accessibility to transport and schools,” he said.
To date Metro has sold 38 homes, with only 12 homes still for sale.
Fairway Residences is less than 30 minutes from Sydney’s CBD and located in close proximity to Homebush and Strathfield train stations.
Strathfield Golf Club is also currently building a new Clubhouse as well as upgrading a range of facilities only a short walk from the development site.
