Perth $233m Film Studio Construction at Halfway Point

Built Australia is more than halfway through Perth Film Studio’s construction as the curtains close on a major project in Penrith

Construction on a film studio complex in the west has reached the halfway point as the sector elsewhere in the country weighs up wins and losses, including the demise of a facility used in a Mad Max blockbuster.

Built Australia is more than halfway through building the Perth Film Studios project that comprises 8200sq m of interior production space and a 23,200sq m backlot on a site north of the CBD and airport.

Studios, production offices, art department, wardrobe, workshops, set storage and parking are also part of the Hassell-designed plans for the 16ha site on Marshall Road, Malaga.
