Sydney Opera House Lines Up $120m Program of Renewal, Upgrades
Another round of upgrades and repairs to the Sydney Opera House has been scheduled, with a $120-million program of works slated.
The latest works follow the $300-million “Decade of Renewal” undertaken in the lead-up to the Joern Utzon-designed Opera House’s 50-year anniversary in 2023.
Spaces including the Playhouse, Drama Theatre and Studio, and Western Venues will now receive new theatre machinery and infrastructure, while the Northern Boardwalk structure will be strengthened after half a century of marine exposure.
