Aged care organisation Scalabrini is upcycling its vacant harbourside facility in Sydney to reintroduce seniors’ housing 6km from the CBD.
The 90-bed facility on a 7527sq m site overlooking Sydney Harbour closed in 2019 as the not-for-profit looked at options for the aging site at 1A Lyons Road.
Under the proposal's plans by Jackson Teece architects, the existing buildings would be reused to create 54 independent living units and a “care hub” facility for palliative, end-of-life and extra-care services.
