Construction work has commenced on Adelaide's tallest tower, the 132-metre Realm Adelaide.
Designed by Elenberg Fraser for private Sydney-based developer Parallel Property, the $200 million tower is being built by Maxcon, a Melbourne-based construction firm.
Offering 320 apartments over 40 levels, Realm Adelaide will be located in Adelaide CBD’s east end and according to South Australian Premier Jay Weatherill will create 1800 jobs during construction.
"Adelaide's East End is entering an exciting new era; Realm Adelaide will become a focal point, towering above the city," Weatherill said in The Australian.
Realm Adelaide will feature 102 one bedroom, 198 two bedroom, 18 three bedroom apartments and two four bedroom double story penthouses. There will two separate and exclusive world-class wellness and entertainment retreats modelled on the best hotels internationally.
There will be 198 car spaces and a car wash bay.
The tower is being built above the existing Renaissance Arcade, which will undergo a makeover in the development, becoming a fully integrated dining and retail precinct that aims to spark the evolution of the Austin Street area.
