States’ Uneven Taxes ‘Handbrake’ on Student Living Development

Student accommodation projects in Melbourne and Brisbane are becoming “unfeasible” in the face of heavy-handed taxation and international student caps. 

While often heralded as a housing supply solution, the sector is facing an uphill battle to get projects out of the ground in states. 

New data from the Property Council of Australia shows just how uneven the tax settings are across the nation.
