Deicorp Submits Plans for Town Centre, 333 Apartments

Sydney-based developer and construction company Deicorp has lodged its design application for the Tallawong Station project in Sydney’s outer north west.

The Tallawong station sites, initiated by Sydney Metro and NSW property arm Landcom, are approved for up to 1100 housing options when complete. It will also comprise up to 9,000sq m of retail, commercial and community use.

Construction of the project’s first stage includes a new town centre along with 333 apartments, and 3,507sq m of public space.

Deicorp was appointed to develop the Turner Studio-designed project, considered a state significant development site, in August last year.

Deicorp managing director Fouad Deiri said the project is part of its growing portfolio of work in Sydney’s north west.

“We believe it will deliver affordable and sustainable housing,” Deiri said.

Located 48 kilometres north-west of Sydney CBD, stage two includes an additional 654 dwellings.

Planning minister Rob Stokes announced in April that assessments of state significant developments would be fast-tracked in NSW, in its bid to maintain a pipeline of work beyond the Covid-19 crisis.

The state has since released two rounds of “shovel-ready” projects.

This recently included green-lighting concept plans for the Ivanhoe Estate in Macquarie Park as one its "shovel-ready" projects.

Frasers Property Australia and community housing provider Mission Australia Housing are behind the project, which will comprise 3300 new homes, 17 kilometres north west of Sydney CBD.

Deicorp has delivered transport-oriented developments in Sydney’s north west, along with the Highline Project at Westmead.

The developer lodged the Tallawong Station application with the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment.

“When the project commences, it's expected to deliver 1,000 jobs during construction and 400 ongoing jobs when completed,” Deiri said.

Deicorp is also expected to kick off construction at its Rouse Hill Civic Way project, a master planned apartment precinct, after submitting plans to the Hills council in October.
