Construction Complete on Sydney's Newest Hilton

As demand for more Sydney hotel room stock continues, Multiplex has completed construction of the city’s newest Hilton hotel located at 65 Sussex Street, Sydney.

The West Hotel Sydney will be Australia's first Curio Collection by Hilton hotel. The new hotel is owned by the Singapore-based M&L Hospitality group.

Curio Collection by Hilton is an upscale hotel brand within Hilton's portfolio. Curio Collection hotels are supported by Hilton, but also have their own individual branding and local character.

The hotel was designed by architects Fitzpatrick + Partners with the mid-scale property featuring an eight-storey tower with a distinctive geometric facade, 182 guest rooms including four suites, an internal courtyard, meeting space, restaurant and bar.

West Hotel features an imposing three-storey internal garden atrium courtyard, white waratah flower motif in the lobby and floral-inspired carpet design in the guest rooms. Architecture firm Woods Bagot designed the interiors.

A signature feature of the hotel is its distinctive geometric façade with 333 individual panels of glass used for its construction, the first of its kind in Australia.

“We are thrilled to deliver the first Curio Collection by Hilton hotel in Australia in partnership with both M&L Hospitality and Hilton Worldwide,” Multiplex’s regional managing director David Ghannoum said.

“This upscale hotel will be a great contribution to the revitalisation of the Western Corridor in Sydney’s CBD.”

Construction commenced in October 2016 and was completed in under 13 months.

M&L, which owns the Hyatt Regency, also in Sussex Street at Darling Harbour, will launch the West Hotel this month.
