Quest Breaks Ground in Adelaide’s North as ACT Property Opens
Quest Apartment Hotels has broken ground on an 87-room hotel in Adelaide’s north as it opens a 126-key property in Canberra, expanding its presence across two growth markets.
Quest Elizabeth is being developed and built, and will be owned, by Emmett on the corner of Main North Road and Prince Charles Street, with completion targeted for March, 2028.
The hotel will comprise studios and two-bedroom, twin-key apartments, alongside three DDA-compliant accessible rooms, The Pantry café, conference facilities and a gym.
It will be within walking distance of Elizabeth Shopping Centre that offers a cinema, dining, retail and services.
Matthews Architects is leading the architecture and interior design.
The project is being developed to service Adelaide’s northern economic corridor, including the Edinburgh Defence Precinct, RAAF Base Edinburgh and Edinburgh Parks.
Investment in defence, advanced manufacturing, logistics, education, health and business is driving demand for accommodation from visiting professionals, project teams, contractors and corporate and government travellers.
Quest managing director David Mansfield said the decision to enter Elizabeth reflected confidence in the growth of Adelaide’s north.
Quest currently operates four properties across South Australia: Quest on Franklin and Quest King William South in Adelaide, Quest Port Adelaide and Quest Mawson Lakes.
The SA milestone comes as Quest expands its Canberra network with the opening of Quest Canberra Dickson following the conversion of the former Adina Serviced Apartments Canberra Dickson.
The 126-key property at 45 Dooring Street is Quest’s third Canberra property and joins the 37-key Quest Canberra in the historic Melbourne Building and the 84-apartment Quest Canberra City Walk.
The additions take Quest’s Canberra footprint from 121 to 247 rooms and apartments.
Initial works at Quest Canberra Dickson included painting, carpet improvements, minor repairs, new signage and the introduction of The Pantry grab-and-go offering.
A broader refurbishment of the apartments and public areas will progressively bring the property to full Quest brand standards.
The hotel offers guest rooms, studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments, with kitchens, laundries, living and work areas and private balconies.
The hotel is about 2km south-west from Canberra’s CBD and 500m from the Dickson dining precinct, with access to Braddon, the Australian War Memorial, Mount Ainslie, Parliament House, the National Gallery of Australia and Canberra Airport.
Quest currently operates more than 160 properties across Australia, New Zealand and Fiji and is targeting a network of 200 properties by 2030.
The expansion follows the opening of Quest Southport on the Gold Coast, and further properties planned for Goulburn North and Wickham Terrace in Brisbane.
