Whistle Blows In Race For Adelaide’s Tallest Tower As Realm Achieves 50 Per Cent Sellout

Realm Adelaide has announced it has sold 50 per cent of its total 314 apartments following last month’s launch. The tower will rise 132 metres and span 40 levels.

The tower will feature Adelaide’s highest residential homes and award-winning architectural firm Elenberg Fraser reconfigured some of Realm’s top floors to meet market demand for three bedroom apartments.

These large three bedroom sky residences feature elevated views across to the Adelaide Hills, prompting the developers to work with Elenberg Fraser to reconfigure floors 30-36, offering additional larger two and three bedroom apartments, as well a smaller three bedroom apartment option.

But construction work on a building two metres taller will begin this year, after the state’s planning authority gave the project the green light.

The Development Assessment Commission in December approved the Kyren Group’s plan to build a 34-storey, 134m-high skyscraper at 11-27 Frome St.

Sales manager of Realm Adelaide, Ben Small, said the project proved Adelaide’s appetite for apartment living. “We have been thrilled at the response to Realm Adelaide since its launch. Locals have certainly been quick to show their support for this iconic building,” he said.

“The demand shown proves there is an untapped appetite in the city for luxury apartment living, which Realm Adelaide is fulfilling. We have found many buyers are looking for family homes and larger investments, which shows there really is a market for high-end apartment living in the heart of the city.”

Elenberg Fraser founder Callum Fraser said, “When designing Realm Adelaide we took elements of the city’s history in and drew inspiration from the heritage Assay House. which will be restored as part of the development. The resulting design is a building that signals the future of architecture and lifestyle in the South Australian capital.

“The response to the design elements and vision that we share with the developers has confirmed that there is a market for apartments offering a high-style lifestyle with all the convenience of a five-star hotel and the thoughtful and spacious design of a home.”

Realm’s Mr Small said, “People are taking advantage of the unparalleled views to the east, west and north of the Austin Street tower. The local market is rewarding us for location quality and the effort put into floor plans.”

Construction is set to commence on the $100 million project in mid to late 2017.
