Queensland’s Yarrabilba will soon be transformed into a fresh food shopping, dining and medical precinct as a result of a major development project spearheaded by Lendlease.
The District Centre which spans the area between Yarrabilba Drive, Wongawallan Drive, Waldron Street and Darlington Drive will include a 3,200 square metre full line Coles supermarket with fresh bakery, deli, seafood, large fresh produce and grocery offer.
Coles will also be joined by a McDonald’s and a Family Medical Centre, which will move into the new District Centre later this year.
Managing Director of Lendlease’s Communities business in Australia, Matthew Wallace said this major milestone is further evidence of the growing popularity of Yarrabilba.
“Attracting residents and locals alike means developing a central hub with the end user in mind and catering for the needs of the community as it continually grows and evolves,” he said.
Lendlease estimated that over 800 equivalent full time jobs will be created from the delivery of these various developments contained within the District Centre.
Priced from $270,000, commercial and mixed unit sites range from 819 square metres to 1243 square metres forming part of Yarrabilba’s first District Centre, which already includes an IGA anchored convenience centre, 24-hour Caltex service station and Star Mart, cafes and medical centre.
The District Centre-bound McDonald’s restaurant will feature self-serve touch screen kiosks, digital menu boards, full McCafé offering, Playland and dual lane drive thru, while the medical centre will become Yarrabilba’s second Family Medical facility, anchored by a 400 square metre pharmacy and an array of allied heath uses plus onsite café.
A series of footpaths, bike trails and pedestrian friendly streets throughout Yarrabilba will link the community quickly and easily to the village centre and all of the surrounding amenities, positioning it as the vibrant hub of Yarrabilba.
Yarrabilba is expected to become home to more than 45,000 people over the next 30 years, covering 2,012 hectares of land between Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
Lendlease said eventually more than 17,000 new homes will be constructed at Yarrabilba along with additional shopping centres, schools, employment generating businesses, extensive parks and recreational facilities.
