Viking By Crown Wins Top Industry Award

Viking by Crown was named the Joint Winner in the ‘Home Units $500,000 – $700,000’ category at the 2015 Master Builders Australia (MBA) NSW Excellence in Housing Awards held at The Star, Sydney on Saturday night.

Designed by MHN Design Union, the 10-storey building features 110 apartments and six premium commercial suites housed within an exhilarating architectural design inspired by world-renowned Israeli artist Yaacov Agam; founder of the post war kinetic art movement.

Crown Group Project Sales and Commercial Director Anthony Falas said the award was a resounding endorsement for Viking by Crown and a true testament to the committed team.

“Crown Group is thrilled to see Viking by Crown recognised by one of the nation’s most prestigious industry bodies,” Mr Falas said.

“Viking by Crown is truly a unique structure amid the vibrant Green Square district in Waterloo, and a significant asset in the transformation of a former inner-city industrial area,” he said.

Two main facades present floor-to-ceiling glass maximising views to Sydney’s Central Business District and Green Square precinct, while vibrant architecturally-designed, coloured three-dimensional panels adorn the building’s O’Dea Avenue facade.

“Residents are engaged by the building’s refreshing and modern design aesthetic, convenient proximity and every day luxury amenities,” Mr Falas said.

“The award is confirmation of an exceptional outcome at Viking by Crown.”

The MBA NSW Excellence in Housing Awards showcased members for demonstrating exceptional craftsmanship, commitment to building excellence and upholding the professional standard of Master Builders members.

Waterloo forms part of The City of Sydney’s broader $8 billion redevelopment of the Green Square area, centred on a new Town Centre.
