A new 33-level office tower could be built on Lonsdale Street in Melbourne’s CBD under a new planning application submitted by developer Leighton Properties and The Uniting Church.
The application, which was submitted in January, is still being assessed.
Cox Architecture was hired to design the project at 118-148 Lonsdale Street, opposite the Wesley Church.
The project would feature a 44.55m office tower with 33 levels, comprising 55,000sqm of commercial office space and 1,400sqm of retail and food beverage space over nine ground floor tenancies.
There would also be 367 bicycle spaces, a level 3-4 car park accommodating 127 vehicles, and a series of public areas created around Wesley Place.
The application reveals that the existing stables, onsite factory and the Princess Mary Club onsite would be demolished, but other buildings and structures would be retained.
