Terrace Homes On Buyers’ Wish List

The popularity of terrace homes is continuing to surge among central Gold Coast home-buyers who want to combine the best of both a house and an apartment.

Long synonymous with the inner suburbs of Sydney and Melbourne, terrace homes are increasingly being delivered in cities right around Australia – and purchasers are snapping them up.

Azura Griffen, sales manager at Robina Group, which has delivered several terrace home communities at the heart of the Gold Coast over the past 37 years, said the love affair with terrace housing was only set to continue.

“Lifestyle is a top priority for buyers today and terrace homes tick all the boxes,” she said.

“Along with offering the space of a home together with the low maintenance benefits of an apartment, terrace homes are often located in urban areas, close to sought-after lifestyle amenities such as dining, transport, parklands and schools.”

Robina Group recently released its latest terrace home community, the $170 million Vue Terrace Homes in Robina on the Gold Coast.  The development has already attracted $19 million in sales, driven by the home designs, the central location and its picturesque parkland setting.

The launch of Vue Terrace Homes was brought forward to meet high demand, following the success of the developer’s previous project, the $130 million Botanique, which sold out in less than 12 months.

The demand is underpinning powerful values growth, with research by independent property analyst Urbis finding terrace homes in Robina increased in value by 6 per cent per annum during the last 10 years.

Ms Griffen said Vue offered a fresh take on Robina Group’s highly successful terrace home design, with a range of lifestyle attractions and services at the doorstep.

“The homes overlook the pristine 17-hectare Robina City Parklands and the community will have views to the Gold Coast skyline,” she said.

“The location is just minutes from a super regional shopping centre, Robina Town Centre, with many of the Gold Coast’s best new restaurants, cafes, department stores and prestige brand outlets.

“Top schools and education facilities, including Somerset College, All Saints Anglican and Bond University, are all close by and Vue is just a 10-minute drive from one of the Gold Coast’s most iconic beaches, Burleigh Heads.

“And the motorway is just minutes away, making Gold Coast International Airport, Brisbane and Byron Bay also all easily accessible.”

Ms Griffen said Vue offered exclusive resort-style amenities for residents.

“It includes an elevated pool and barbeque area, with relaxation zones and grass decking, taking in the beautiful water and parklands views,” she said.

“Each of the homes features a modern and flexible design, European appliances, high quality finishes and fixtures and will be NBN-fibre ready on completion, enabling access to super fast internet.”

The six-hectare secure gated-community will also offer on-site management, delivering a suite of advantages for both owner-occupiers and investors.

Alex Cook, of Resort Brokers, said onsite managers had a vested interest in ensuring a premium quality of operations and presentation was maintained.

“The onsite manager has the same interest and aspirations as all residents and owners,” he said.

“They want the complex to look good, to be well maintained and operate well to maintain the value of their own asset, so they get a capital gain when they sell down the line.

“Onsite managers are better able to screen tenants and, as they can take walk-ins, they typically have a waiting list of potential residents so they can choose the most suitable for the community.

“For investors, there are quite a few additional benefits.  Vacancy rates and rents are generally better and, when it comes to repairs and maintenance, they can easily nip into your home for a pre-agreed rate, which should be a lot less than it would be to get a tradesperson out.”

Construction of the first stage of Vue Terrace Homes is scheduled to start soon, with

Stage One to feature 71 three-bedroom, plus media, dual-level terrace homes, priced from $599,000.
