Gold Coast City Council has given construction company and developer Rawcorp the green light to develop 76 architecturally designed apartments at golf resort ‘The Glades’.
The nine level development will be built on a 2865 square metre site located on Glades Drive in Robina. It will comprise a mix of one, two and three bedroom apartments with 130 car parks, a roof terrace and large communal open space.
The development, yet to be named, will be one of the city’s only new residential medium rise apartment projects to be built on a golf course.
Designed by AGA Architects, the apartments have been designed for both residential use and long term accommodation, offering large internal floor areas and spacious balconies overlooking the water and rolling fairways.
Rawcorp special projects manager Dan Rogers said the apartments offer a rare lifestyle opportunity, at an achievable price point, with the apartments priced in the mid $300,000s through to the mid $500,000s.
“With competitive price points we expect to see strong interest from first home buyers, who can take advantage of the Queensland First Home Owners’ Grant, giving them a $15,000 to $20,000 helping hand, depending on the date of their contract,” he said.
“The apartments will also appeal to empty nesters and retirees transitioning from the family home.”
This is the second residential development to be announced by Rawcorp at The Glades in a matter of months. Rawcorp launched boutique townhouse development Eagle Terraces at The Glades in November, which is being built on a site opposite the apartment project.
Eagle Terraces, also designed by AGA architects, is an exclusive collection of nine terrace homes and Mr Rogers says the level of interest in the terraces has validated Rawcorp’s enthusiasm in The Glades precinct.
“Given the limited land supply in Robina, particularly land with golf course frontage, this new development presents buyers with a rare and valuable opportunity to buy into a brand new, well located apartment project in a tightly held region,” Mr Rogers said.
Kyia Maidens of Marketing Projects, who has been appointed to market Rawcorp’s Eagle Terraces at The Glades, says the demand for property in Robina is underpinned by the suburb’s unparalleled connectivity, walkability and established major infrastructure.
“Robina is currently experiencing high rental demand and a vacancy rate of less than one per cent, and with significant population growth projected over the coming years, this trend is likely to continue,” she said.
Located adjacent to the Pacific Motorway, The Glades is within walking distance to Robina Town Centre, the Robina railway station, with proximity to numerous public and private schools.
Rawcorp is currently developing 26 apartments at Fivechester Terrace located at Southport, which is on track for completion in March 2017.
